The Tendring Ladies produced a wonderful team performance on Sunday with their win against Inter London. With every player stepping on the court for at least a set, Tendring decisively took the second round game in the in the National Volleyball League Cup. The National Cup is the prime knock out competition in the Volleyball England competition calendar. With this win the Tendring Ladies will advance to the next round of play on December 5th.

 

 

Her played paired with the the strong offensive efforts of Lauren Hodgkinson, Linda Ziverte, and Fernanda Gumaraes lead to the 3-0 win that never saw Inter breaking into the twenties with the first set being won 25-8. Distributing the ball in the first sweep of the season for the Tendring ladies was Molly Van Essen, Becky Saunders, and Jessica Lane. The visiting team’s hitters were held at bay with strong blocking by Milly Smith and Katerina Lamprov. In the third set of the match Inter came out firing with stronger serving that led to a point for point match. Inter’s battle placed the score at a tie when a Fran Smith Smith-Daye kill began a Tendring run that would see the set closed out by a Smith ace. 

The team is now looking forward to their next season match up. Tendring will face Polonia SideOut London on Saturday the 21st at 17:00 and Team South Wales the following Sunday at 11:00.

 

Protecting the backcourt firmly was Millie Stamp the team MVP who provided a strong serve receive performance with tenacious defensive efforts.
