Wessex 0-3 Tendring Ladies
18-25, 17-25, 21-25
Report by Lois Chitticks
After a long bus ride down South, the Tendring women lined up against a young Wessex team. With both teams missing some big hitters, the game started off with some long rallies and good defence from both sides.
Once the Tendring girls got into their flow, Mechell Daniel, Ellie Cranch and Helen Hunt provided good options in the attacking line with Lena Bitadou staying strong in defence. The first set ended 25-18 to Tendring and the second set started much like the first. Mechell (MVP of the game) providing outstanding hitting from outside and opposite. The introduction of Emily Bell added stability in the passing unit and led Tendring to win the second set 25-17. Much of the same continued in the 3rd set, with Holly Bentley, Milly Smith and Charlotte Bontems showing their skills on the court. Tendring managed to take the game 3-0 and are now top of the Super League with a game in hand.
